My electroliers are sculptural vignettes of leaves, moths, and nocturnal fauna inspired by my landscape in rural Virginia. The lights and sounds are dynamically generated by analog electronic circuits to create a tapestry of life-like behaviors, such as chirping crickets, fluttering moths, and croaking frogs. Part of my practice of electronic naturalism, electroliers are intended to be a microcosm of nature for people in urban environments where access to the wilderness is not readily available.
